Water Safety Courses
Apex Surf offers a range of water safety courses from professional beach and open water lifeguard courses for those looking to make a career as a lifeguard or a surf coach, to self rescue courses for surfers to learn skills that might save you, your surf buddy or another ocean user.

What have we been up to?
Our first team of 7 beach lifeguards have just re-qualified this weekend proving that spring is here, roll on the 2026 season!
We have just released our first confirmed course dates, we will add more in the coming weeks and as always can accommodate custom courses and dates on request.
Our NSCLA spring courses are running in Bournemouth and North Wales & NVBLQ running in Porthcawl and Aberavon. Please check our course dates page.
We are running a SALT course on June 7th in Porthcawl for surfers and ocean goers who would like to learn some basic rescue techniques and first aid.
As always our remote and in person surf coaching sessions have been on going over winter with surfers from across Europe working with us. We have had chilly winter swells perfect for our improvers and now it's warming up (went gloves free this weekend) it's ideal time to get ready for the spring swells.
We have had some great winter sessions with our para surfers progressing into the competition season.
